Personal Philosophy
I have always been captivated by the delicate and profound connections between people and the natural world. As a multidisciplinary conservation scientist and sustainability advocate, my work is driven by the belief that effective environmental solutions lie at the intersection of rigorous research, insightful data, compelling storytelling, but most importantly people. In my work, I strive to bridge ecological theory with social and economic sciences to drive pragmatic action, shape fit-for-purpose policies, and guide conservation strategies capable of producing tangible, on-the-ground change.

At the core of my approach is a conviction that conservation efforts must be both scientifically grounded and culturally attuned to the landscapes we seek to protect. I specialize in weaving together ecological, societal, and cultural perspectives, ensuring that environmental decision-making is not only effective but also equitable and sustainable. My research spans diverse ecosystems, engaging with some of the most urgent global challenges of our time, including: biodiversity conservation, ecosystem restoration, climate change mitigation, nature-based solutions, sustainability, and environmental finance.

But research, in its truest form, is not merely an academic pursuit—it is a tool for transformation. I am committed to translating complex ecological principles into clear, resonant narratives that inspire action across all sectors of society. Whether speaking to policymakers, practitioners, or the public, I aim to make science both accessible and compelling, bridging the gap between knowledge and implementation.

Collaboration is essential for meaningful progress. I work alongside industry leaders, government agencies, and nonprofits to foster innovative, cross-sector solutions that safeguard biodiversity, sustain ecosystem services, and promote sustainable practices.

In addition to my research, I am passionate about spending time in nature. I enjoy many outdoor activities from rock climbing, to fly fishing, or hiking, and surfing, which provide me with both personal fulfillment and deeper insight into wild the landscapes I work to protect.

I am always seeking new opportunities to engage in projects that align with my mission: to contribute my expertise toward creating lasting, positive change for both people and nature.
